
Ms. Ackerson has focused exclusively on the defense of hospital systems, physicians, mid-level providers and long-term care facilities against claims of malpractice and general negligence. She has also assisted in the defense of healthcare professionals through investigations and disciplinary proceedings before the New York State’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct (“OPMC”), Office of Professional Discipline (“OPD”), as well as the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Ms. Ackerson began her career at Hutcheson, Affronti & Deisinger, P.C. as a college intern, worked tirelessly through both undergraduate and law school, and has become an invaluable member of our defense team as an Associate Attorney.
After graduating summa cum laude from Medaille College in 2021, Ms. Ackerson obtained her law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School in 2024.
Ms. Ackerson was selected to Alpha Chi while at Medaille College, having been named to the Deans’ List during every semester of her studies. She was also an awardee of the Medaille College Honors Program. Ms. Ackerson is presently a member of the Erie County Bar Association; the Niagara County Bar Association; and the New York State Bar Association. She was recently selected as one of the local representative attorneys for a “Rising Stars” event, hosted by several of the largest medical liability insurance providers in the state, which was limited to young trial attorneys throughout New York.
