
Mr. Affronti concentrates his practice on civil litigation matters, including trials and appellate advocacy, and has extensive experience in defending against medical and professional malpractice claims. He has spent more than a decade successfully representing area physicians, hospitals, long-term care and skilled nursing facilities, medical groups, and other healthcare providers. Mr. Affronti also regularly defends physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals in licensing, governmental investigations, and disciplinary proceedings involving the New York State Department of Health and New York State Education Department, through their respective agencies, including OPMC and OPD, as well as the Justice Center for the Protection of People With Special Needs. He has lectured at the University at Buffalo Medical School regarding avoidance of professional malpractice and licensing/disciplinary proceedings.
Mr. Affronti also devotes a considerable portion of his practice to advising corporate clients. In serving as counsel to a number of local companies, Mr. Affronti provides legal guidance on corporate structures, formation and governance, shareholder disputes, business divorce, acquisition and sale, insurance, compliance, and best practices. He has significant experience litigating commercial and construction disputes, breach of contract claims, and complex personal injury claims.
Mr. Affronti has been named a New York Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers® magazine each year since 2017. He is a member of multiple Bar Associations, legal organizations, and has served as Treasurer for the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association.
